Melanie Fishbane

Hailing from a suburb north of Toronto, this suburban girl craved the hustle and bustle of the big city and after a few years in Montreal, she planted roots in the big city, Toronto.  With over fifteen years working with books, Melanie has spent the last six eating, sleeping and breathing kids books as the Online Merchandiser for Kids and Teens for Indigo.

If you ask her what she does in her spare time, she’ll tell you that she when she’s not reading the latest Libba Bray, Kate DiCamillo, Arthur Slade, or Kenneth Oppel , she might be seen writing her YA novel , blogging about her favourite books  or  practicing the latest Broadway hit on her piano.  She may also confess that she loves her TV, current favourites being, The Good Wife, Parenthood and Mad Men.

Some of her favourite kids books growing up were,  Judy Blume’s Tales of the Fourth Grade Nothing, Laura Ingalls Wilder’s The Long Winter, L.M. Montgomery’s Anne of Green Gables, Annk Frank’s The Diary of A Young Girl: Anne Frank, Shel Silverstein’s The Giving Tree and Jack Kent’s There's No Such Thing As A Dragon.   She looks forward to hearing about yours.
