I am the Inventory Analyst for Teen Books at Home Office.
Here are the series of events which led me to you, reader…
Went to Art College in Halifax where I was told I should probably be writing movies, but somewhere more mainstream (I love Nora Ephron films, is that a crime against art?)
Went to Film School in Toronto where I was told I should probably be writing novels (I like a little extra description, is that a crime against film?)
Worked at Coles (where coincidentally I met my future husband, though at the time I had no idea)
Taught English in South Korea for a year
Worked at Coles & also at YTV in Toronto – both cool jobs where I got to advise kids & grown-up kids on what to read
Then! Got this fabulous job at Home Office which includes: telling math what to do (I knew I’d get the upper hand one day, math), being near cool books and doing other cool things, like this blog!
The End.
Also, three books I think are top-notch if you like to have only the most extreme fun while reading:
Hubert’s Hair-raising Adventure by Bill Peet – This dude was one of the first Disney animators and rhymed hilarious kids books like a champion.
Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare – Do you enjoy Victorian era snarky steampunk mystery romance? I thought so.
Sailor Moon by Naoko Takeuchi –Do you enjoy the average-joe-turned-superhero-whose-love-from-a-thousand-years-ago-and-another-planet-has-been-reborn-but-they-don’t-remember-each-other-yet? Of course you do!
