I’ve lived in Japan and Los Angeles, but I call British Columbia home. I love listening to music, baking cupcakes, exploring cities, and telling stories. My favourite band is Coldplay, and my favourite TV show is Doctor Who. I love Christopher Nolan movies, Scott Pilgrim, and Jeff Lindsay’s Dexter series. When I hear the original version of songs that have been covered on Glee, I often wonder why they don’t sound right.

In my previous lives I’ve been: A children’s English Language instructor; a freelance graphic designer; a work-for-hire author for TOKYOPOP, and a Starbucks barista. Now I work in my local Chapters helping everyone who loves young adult fiction find their next favourite book.

When I’m not working or writing whatever my current manuscript is, I’m probably reading. Some of my favourite authors for young adults are: Neil Gaiman, Diana Wynne Jones, Libba Bray, Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl, Rick Riordan, and Rachel Vincent.
