Waiting for A Dance with Dragons

It’s been a long time coming but, as I begin to reread A Song of Ice and Fire, that no longer matters. Winter is coming. A Dance with Dragons begins in just over two fortnights’ time.

It has been almost six years since I went to my local Chapters and picked up George R.R. Martin’s newly released A Feast for Crows, and the same since I last reread the series. I vowed to only do so for the arrival of each new instalment, to save myself the yearning for more which always grips me as I reach the end.

And so I begin. Over the next month, I will bring you some of my thoughts as I progress through the series. For those who have not yet finished all the current titles, or who are just starting by following the HBO series, I will make sure to warn of any spoilers ahead of time.

Funnily enough, being already most of the way through A Game of Thrones and after a quick peek at the HBO website, I am almost exactly synced up with the story at the end of episode 8 (personally, I prefer to wait until the DVD release of any series so that I can see it end to end in short order…but for those watching, I am interested in hearing your thoughts on the series).

Do feel free to leave your own thoughts about A Song of Ice and Fire as I progress. Anyway, back to my reading as we approach The Twins.

For those who have yet to pick up their copies:
