Mélanie Watt and Scaredy Squirrel have prepared a do-it-yourself Christmas survival guide, Scaredy Squirrel Prepares for Christmas, that will definitely help you during the busy holiday season. From Christmas gifts and characters, to holiday treats and sweets, Scaredy has thought of everything you need to make the season perfect.
One of Scaredy's favourite things to do is building gingerbread houses (making sure that you follow all of the important building codes of course.) And while he does provide excellent instructions on how to build one using duct tape and glue in the book, the good people at Kids Can Press thought that another kind of gingerbread house--one that can be eaten--might be fun, too. So they sent us a Scaredy Squirrel Gingerbread Kit.
Last week, Anne Lee, Eva Quan, one of our Inventory Analyst’s, Christine King, her daughter, Zoe, and I set out to build the best gingerbread house, ever.
We made sure that we paid particular attention to the very special warning:

We read the very specific instructions, because we definitely wanted to make sure that our gingerbread house was stable.

Made sure we had everything that we needed:

Of course, Zoe was a tremendous help.

And, of course, we built a yummy looking house that I think would make Scaredy proud.
