Little Princes

One of the pleasures in working at Indigo is to work with other booksellers and readers. Michael Nicholson is also a Non-Fiction Buyer. He recommends the following title. In his words...

When Conor Grennan planned a year off travelling around the world he started with a three month placement volunteering at an orphanage in Nepal. Surely women would find this selflessness irresistible, he said to himself. But he was unprepared for how deeply this commitment would change his thinking and his life. The energy and exuberance of the eighteen children at the Little Princes orphanage and the discovery of how they came to be there made a great impression on the 29 year old author and at the end of his travels he changed his plans and returned to Nepal.

Little Princes tells the story of Grennan’s growing involvement with the orphans  and his creation of a foundation to reunite them with their families. His voice is self-deprecating, his spirit adventurous and his story told with modesty and good heart. Little Princes is a testament to the difference one person can make in the lives of others and will satisfy readers who appreciate a good adventure story. It is highly recommended to readers of Three Cups of Tea and to those who are inspired by learning of lives dedicated to making the world a better place for all of us.
